One way that students are encouraged to collaborate and lead one another is through specially designed activities called POGILs. POGIL activities are structured so that there is a leader, recorder, evaluator and presenter. The idea is to create a group environment where students are challenged to lead one another and assist in the active learning of a the group as a whole.
